GET CONNECTED FOR SMALL BUSINESS SUCCESS

Dec. 1/2000: Over half of Canada's population is connected to the Internet.
Of these more than 15 million "wired" Canadians, 2.5 million are self-employed as small office or home office owners (SOHOs)*. One of the most pressing issues for SOHOs is the ability to stay competitive while controlling costs: in today's hi-tech world, that means getting connected and staying connected.

WIRED FOR SMALL BUSINESS SUCCESS can help. This latest addition to the popular SOHO Series is a one-stop guide to choosing, using and accessing the right technology for every small business. An essential resource offering step-by-step instruction for everything from setting up phone lines to building a FAN (family area network) or LAN (local area network), WIRED is the answer to every SOHO's telecommunications prayers.

Ideal for those SOHOs setting up or expanding their small business, this book contains dozens of tips to help maximize telecommunications, while keeping an eye on the bottom line. Authors Nick Wittenberg and Kathleen Aldridge help readers choose the best high-speed Internet connection; network computers while managing files, printers and Internet access; select and configure software; make e-mail work; as well as create a Web site, select Internet service and register domain names.

Wired for Small Business Success contains 18 step-by-step procedures that will walk any SOHO through a variety of hardware connections and modifications. With helpful illustrations, easy-to-follow instructions and real-life scenarios, WIRED is a low-stress reference to the often-confusing world of information technology.
